OK, so you made it this far! Congrats on reading all of the Joomla How To: The Basics stuff.  It's important to know and you may need to refer to it from time to time.

You'll need be familiar with the following terms as we delve into Joomla further.

• JPG | GIF | PNG - Click each one and read the definitions. Return to this page.
• Fireworks | Photoshop | GIMP - These are graphics programs.  If you do not have one you will need to get one or have a friend who does.  You'll need to make some nice new graphics and not use crappy clip art.  We'll also be resizing images before we upload them into Joomla. (If you use MSPaint, we do not want to know about it.:-) 
• WYSIWYG - Acronym for "What You See Is What You Get". It's an oldie but a goodie. We're gonna use one and download a new one.
• FTP - File Transfer Protocol
